Meet Marla....
Welcome to my home! I’m Marla and my husband Randy and I have lived in a 100 year old farmhouse in northern Wisconsin for nearly two years. We moved here from a 10 year old home in town, so that was quite a difference. We were lucky that the farmhouse had been remodeled, and we only needed to paint and make a few minor changes. We have 2 sons no longer living at home, Joshua and Michael and our younger son Michael and his then fiancé Monica wanted to have their wedding reception in our yard Labor Day weekend last year, so we had to hurry and get yard work done. We had the most beautiful day ever for the wedding! The weather was perfect, and we left the sides of the tent off to let the cool breezes blow through. We had farmer’s market flowers everywhere and a full moon to top it all off. So now we are blessed to have a wonderful daughter-in-love (as I call her). When the boys were growing up, we always had the motto “if you feed them, they will come.” We always kept a supply of frozen pizzas, hamburgers, and hotdogs, and it seemed every time the grill started up, the kids started showing up. Even though our kids don’t live very close (one 4 hours away and the other two 2 hours), they still show up…and bring friends…and hope for food. J We always welcome friends and family, and we’ve been having what my husband likes to call “porch sittings” this summer. It’s nice to have friends come over and share a snack and something cold to drink and not worry about making it a big deal. But…we still keep plenty of frozen pizzas, hamburgers, and hot dogs…just in case! J So, if you’re ever in the area, please stop by! We’d love to visit with you.
